Transition

We understand that seamless transitions are central to young children’s development and emotional wellbeing and we place huge importance  on involving not only our pupils and staff but our parents between phases and year group. 

Fundamentally, it’s about effective communications, good information sharing and positive experiences. 

From the outset, when your child joins us, there will be a range of  methods from home visits to planned reviews and settling-in diaries. There will always be early opportunities for pupils and parents to familiarise themselves with new settings and surroundings.

When our pupils move from Reception we ensure there are early visits with Year 1 children and staff, a buddy scheme in place and a structured approach between practitioners, pupils and parents to learn about routines that build on the approach of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We have devised our own A-Z guide for parents on smooth transition
between each of the phases and key stages and this will be made available to you at the start of each new academic year.
