Year 3
Dear parents and carers,
Welcome back to a new and exciting year. It has been lovely to see the children start to grasp the routines and expectations of Year 3 and become more familiar with their surroundings. We look forward to working with you this year! The following Information will help you to support your child in their learning so that they are able to reach their full potential this year.
Pencil Cases
Children will need a small pencil case. Inside they will need writing pencils, a ruler, an eraser, a sharpener and a simple set of colouring pencils. Please ensure they also have a whiteboard pen.
Lunch and snacks
Please make sure your child has a piece of fruit in a clearly labelled small box or bag to eat at break times. They will not be allowed chocolate or unhealthy snacks. Children must bring a water bottle with their name on to use during the day. Please remember we are a nut free school. Due to allergies, it is essential the children do not have any nuts or products that contain nuts in their snack or lunch boxes.
School uniform, equipment and P.E. uniform
All clothes and equipment should be clearly labelled. This is very important when we are trying to find and search for missing belongings. Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children should come to school dressed in their PE kits.
Learning this term
Please take a look at our medium-term plan below for each term to see what we are learning. Children will need to know their 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 8x and 10x table by the end of Year 3. Please try and support your child in learning these at home. They have access to TTRockstars to aid this alongside Hit the Button.
Homework
We will be sending homework home every Friday. This will consist of one arithmetic task, one reading comprehension task and spellings. Students will have to complete this by the following Wednesday. Homework should be completed in their homework books.
