Design and Technology
Design and Technology is an inspiring and practical subject.
Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. Learning often links well with Maths, English, and Art.We help pupils to take risks and be creative whilst teaching them a progression of skills. This ranges from learning how to join and attach model-making materials in the Early Years (using tape, staplers, or string) to building a castle with moving parts and designing various structures, and testing them for strength in Key Stage 1.
Learning in this area also involves cooking and nutrition, and is closely linked to Healthy Schools. In all areas of Design and Technology, children are taught to test their ideas and evaluate their creations.
